Captain Ivan Drago. Frank Castle. He-Man.
Dolph Lundgren has played fanboy icons on the big screen (and is enjoying a career resurgence with the forthcoming The Expendables and Universal Soldier sequel), but he has achieved a whole new level of genius thanks to his appearance on a Swedish award show this past weekend.
The flamboyant singing and dancing fest was a clear winner in last week’s television audience ratings, beating Antikrundan — the Swedish version of the Antiques Roadshow — into second place on 2.1 million. (via TheLocal.se)
Lundgren could have just showed up, read the crappy jokes on the teleprompter, and lumbered off stage when he presented an award at The Melodifestivalen (The Festival of Melodies) — but no, no, no, no — he proceeded to blow my frakking mind instead. I’m ready to start replacing Chuck Norris with Dolph Lundgren on this list.
Behold: He sings Elvis. He dances. He takes a drum solo. He does karate. And he breaks giant slabs of frozen ice in half…

holy crap thanks for finding this, so random
HAHA! Maybe Dolph should host the Oscars?
Love it!!!! “I must break you”
i have a whole new respect for mr. lundgren. didn’t realize he’s the shatner of sweden.
wow. that changed my life.
i will stop making he-man jokes now.
that was so awesome.
Frankly, I’m impressed! He’s no great vocalist, but he got up there and tried, dammit. Kudos!
Also, I’ve been studying Shotokan Karate for 3+ years now and I gotta say, that kick he broke that board with was an Excellent rear thrust kick. He put his hip into it good, landed his shot right on the ball of his foot. Blam!
All around, nicely done.
