40 Million Rick-Rolled…

That’s just one of the cool stats from the latest “Shift Happens” video developed by XPLANE in partnership with The Economist.

If you’ve never seen one of these videos, check it out below — they articulate the changing media landscape in a way that only electronic music and numbers can.

And I love how they end the video with a Ray Kurzweil quote that reassures me that in 25 years, my blood cells will be able to rick-roll people.

Yeah, it’s pretty amazing how fast things are moving.

I wonder if TV networks are doomed in the same way newspapers are… Ad revenue is down, but I’m not so sure people are ready to cancel cable subscriptions the way they’ve canceled newspaper subscriptions in the last ten years.

I think TV networks are going to be gone in the future. Websites like Youtube and Hulu will probably put the networks out of business. Like you said before, print is doomed too, seeing how everything is online. However, I still think cable will still be around for a little bit longer but technology is progressing so quickly….
