God of War 3 looks soooo epic.
Unfortunately, the line to play the game is epic too, so I haven’t played it yet. But I spent some time watching a dude get schooled by a huge Minotaur-type creature that was so much more badass than the minotaurs from the first games. It took 3 stages to take him down — first Kratos had to cut off his tail, then rip the frakkin’ jaw off his face, THEN pull off a horn and stab him through the heart.
The graphics are of course amazing, and there are plenty of cool new creatures. I watched Kratos use his chains to hook onto angelic creatures in order to cross a vast river gorge. Let’s put it this way: GoW 3 makes me want to buy a PS3.
I got some game time in on New Super Mario Bros Wii, which was a lot of fun. The controls are classic Super Mario: 2 buttons, one to run the other to jump. Besides mushrooms and stars, you can also grab propeller suits. Shake the WiiMote to propel yourself to higher altitudes for those out of reach coins. Totally fun.
The game has 4-player capability but I played mano-a-mano with Jonathan London. Although the conference stated that the game is due out for Holiday season 2009, when I pressed the booth babe about it, she said there is no release date.
