Everything About Moon Makes Me Want to See It

moon-poster

2009 looks like a great year for indie sci-fi flicks, with Sleep Dealer hitting theaters next week, and now this amazing trailer for Duncan Jones’ Moon. The flick made a splash at Sundance, SXSW, and Tribeca earlier this year and hits theaters in June from Sony Pictures Classics.

Moon stars Sam Rockwell as an astronaut finishing up his three year tour of duty mining resources on the moon when things start to go awry. I recommend watching the trailer in HD — it looks gorgeous. Jones is a new director and the son of David Bowie — and obviously shares his pop’s interest in space. Think Ground Control will remind Sam to take his protein pills and put his helmet on? (Sorry I couldn’t resist that.)

How sweet is that frakkin’ poster? And did I mention Moon features an original score by Clint Mansell (The Fountain)? I’m stoked for this one!
