This week Ronald D. Moore, Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell and David Eick gathered at the United Nations to discuss human rights and other correlations between the BSG universe and our own. It was moderated by Trek-alum Whoopi Goldberg.
Oh, it gets better. At one point an impassioned Admiral Adama started yelling “So Say We All”!

The “Old Man” launched into a passionate speech about casting off the idea of race as a cultural determinant, and said we were one race, the human race. His voice echoed throughout the chamber growing louder until -- I kid you not -- he was yelling, “So Say We All,” and the crowd answered right back.

You know you’ve made some damn good sci-fi when you’re involved in a discourse at the UN and you’re chanting lines from the show. Mad props to RDM and everyone else who has made Battlestar Galactica a story that resonates with so many people in so many ways. It’s hard to see you go…
