Steve Jobs Unveils iPhone 3G at WWDC

Steve Jobs unveiled the much anticipated 3G iPhone at the Apple developer’s conference keynote at the World Wide Developer’s Conference and announcedĀ a July 11 launch in 22 countries. The price has been slashed — $199 for the 8GB model — and it will sport a bunch of new applications: games, blog tools, and GPS capability. Oh, and they’ve added a new color: it’s coming out in white as well as black (whoopee).

The crowd roars when Jobs announces the GPS and with good reason: location services look to be a big part of the iPhone, so we can all throw out our Thomas Guides and be content in knowing that whatever city we’re in, we’ll always be able to find the nearest comic book shop.

Check out the video for highlights fromĀ the presentation.
