Last August robotics firm Boston Dynamics was given a $10 Million DARPA contract to produce a robot with animal-like strength, speed and mobility. This week Boston Dynamics released the following video of it’s Big Dog Robot climbing hills, running through snow, jumping, and sliding on ice.
The organic, lifelike balance this robot shows off is amazing — and a little creepy. Let’s put it this way, I wouldn’t want to see this thing coming over the horizon with a machine gun mounted on it’s back.
