For those wondering what the mission is for the Endeavour crew that launched into space this morning, here’s a video from ABC News with a quick rundown of the goings on at the International Space Station this week.
I was a bit surprised (okay, not really) that NONE of the 24-hour cable news channels aired the launch, so I watched it on NASA’s very cool website.
40 years ago, space missions captured the imagination of the nation — nowadays you have to go digging for this stuff on the internet. Has the public really gotten so disinterested in space exploration? Are we just used to it? Or did the Challenger and Columbia disasters taint our view of the importance of space exploration?
Pretty weird that what was once the job of Walter Kronkite to report is now a video podcast hosted by this dude Clayton Sandell, who couldn’t look any less interested in what NASA’s Dana Weigel is saying. He kind of looks annoyed to even be talking about it. And drunk.
