CNN reports that the U.S. Navy is preparing to launch a missile on Thursday to destroy a failed U.S. spy satellite before it has a chance to reenter the Earth’s atmosphere. Since the satellite was just launched in 2006, I think it’s safe to report it as a n00b that is about to get pwned. Wired has an article detailing the technology behind the guided missile.
Estimated cost to shoot down the satellite: $60 million. Saying you did it: priceless.
